Tank Museum East

Outdoor offer 1

J. no. MLGP-E-16-0664

Panzermuseum East has received a grant from the EU with the assistance and great hospitality of Landudvikling Slagelse to expand its framework for disability-friendly and non-profit offers by establishing recreational facilities. The facilities are aimed partly at international and Danish outdoor and camping tourism, but to a large extent also as a permanent outdoor-based offer for the local area's young people, the war veteran community, associations and other private and public actors.

The museum establishes facilities that are thematically similar to military fortifications. These include a Tube Shelter and a Trench Shelter, each with room for 10 - 16 overnight guests. The shelters are equipped with barbecue and campfire sites as well as tables/bench sets. In addition, a Longhouse with room for 30 - 40 guests and a disabled-friendly toilet will be established.

The initiatives will help to support the museum's continued development and appeal to many different target groups. The project is expected to generate local revenue and, in the long term, contribute to the creation of more local jobs.
